Teenager for Hire
This is my oldest son Zak who is 15. He is a great lad who is polite, inquisitive and enjoys helping others. He is not sure what he wants to do when he leaves school in a few years, but is looking for some work experience or perhaps a regular/casual job during the school holidays.
During this year (on the weekends) Zak has been doing gardening, odd jobs and irrigation work for some local Woodside residents, volunteered at events for a nursing home and also for Alzheimer’s Australia. Zak also has a passion and flair for ‘capturing moments’ on film (video and still) and loves documentary style projects and recently filmed and edited a live gig for my band. We are creating our own dementia documentary as well, and he really enjoys the preparation, creative process, obtaining great camera angles and following a story board. Computer based roles are also of great interest eg tech work, social media, websites, support etc., as he is doing several IT subjects at school.
Zak is looking to experience new adventures and learn new skills in any industry at all. He is not fussed what he does as everything is a learning opportunity and even if he is exposed to a job for a single day, it helps him mature regardless and brings him closer to finding his niche. Work in the Hills is the ultimate but am happy to drive him to anywhere in Adelaide.
Does anyone know someone that may need some extra help during the holidays or is open to showing Zak a ‘day in your industry’? He is not expecting to be paid for the experience and would appreciate any offers that come his way. It can be manual labouring, farm work, computer work, hospitality, retail, wine industry, food industry or anything at all……
