           *This post is not quite what it appears (a lighter moment in dementia) Yes, we have had some major family trauma with Dad going back into the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) via 2 ambulances after some very serious behaviour issues. On Thursday I spent from 1pm till 10pm grappling and holding Dad after some ‘wild behaviour’ in the nursing home which resembled a cowboy bar room brawl and continued in the Emergency Department (ED) at the RAH. Dad Goes Back to the RAH

I used to collect stickers when I was a kid. This is one sticker you DON’T want in your collection. The Emergency Department (ED) at RAH is one of the most stressful, yet amazing and action packed workplaces I have ever seen. Unfortunately Dad is now in the RAH after a very traumatic week. You never know what is gonna happen with Dementia and this week is no exception. Bravo to nurses, carers, docs and everyone who has been helping us….you are our heroes. This is Dementia….

Moment of Mayhem

Today was a day like no other. Dad was at work with his personal carer (and now good friend) Don. He was terrific for Dad as he came to our workplace and posed as a volunteer helper in our warehouse. Don had many times gone to people’s homes and posed as a cleaner or a gardener, but never to a business before. This factor alone makes Don a unique character as he was prepared to try new techniques to make a difference to people’s lives. He would run errands for us and take…
