I recently posted a letter on Facebook in regard to the Emergency Services Levy that in simple terms means volunteers have to ‘pay to volunteer’ to protect us. ( which is wrong on so many levels) . I then sent that letter on to the Heavy Hitters of Emergency Services and hoped they could make a difference with it. Following is a letter I wrote to the SA Emergency Services re: Volunteers having to pay the ESL (Emergency Services Levy). I am writing today to acknowledge the efforts of the amazing men & women in our emergency services, and in particular the wonderful contribution of the volunteers.
