Never Buy Anything From A Man In A White Coat
After waking up in the middle of the night with the tv on I was once again subjected to several hours of absolute rubbish advertising, known as the INFOMERCIAL. It has been going on since the 70’s but I am calling it .
OK…nearly everyone has a “Magic Bullet” but when was the last time you have seen on tv an ugly person on a stepper or ab machine? How about an ‘average size’ person? Do we honestly believe the before & after weight loss shots when being offered weight loss powders?? Airbrushing and photoshop are working overtime here people.
Do we honestly trust the actor promoting health products because they are wearing a white coat?…surely you can’t be serious??? Throw a stethoscope and a framed certificate on the wall and you can sell me anything to do with weight loss, vitamins or magic potions….not!
Guess what?….I bet you and the next 25 callers get a free gift or a special price with a money back no obligation guarantee? I suspect the next 10,000 callers would be getting the same deal.
The companies are hoping you are too lazy or too embarrassed that you fell for the sales pitch to return the silly item.
The special offer is only available in the next 30 minutes!….really?? that is until we reload the infomercial on the following night!
The lessons:
If you get a free “set of steak knives” or bonus items you are about to be ripped.
If you are rushed to make a quick decision….sucker alert!
If the person on the ab cruncher has a six pack that looks like they have been basted in cooking oil, they probably have. If they are super good looking then definitely hide the credit card.
