Tough Love for the Modern Teenager
TOUGH LOVE in the Partington Household today!
My teenage boys have been sleeping in up till midday through the holidays. We thought we needed to get their body clocks ready for school next week, so we had a practice at getting up at 6.30am today so they can catch the bus by themselves.
As expected, both boys slept in till 8am(when their bus would be leaving) I decided to teach them a lesson.
I burst into their rooms with a megaphone, sounding an ‘air raid ‘ siren at full volume. I then stated the following rant at the top of my voice:
“You have both just missed your bus to school”
” you are now late for school and will be on detention”
“You have failed yourselves and your school”
” you are typical teenagers and you need to sharpen up”
” you both owe me $100 due to a day of lost education”
Their reply???…….”WHATEVER DAD” ( and went back to sleep)
